    Hi everyone!

I would like to hear from everyone, what makes you passionate about ocean conservation? What sparked your interest in ocean conservation initially and what keeps you interested? I think getting a general understanding of why people chose this field or why people chose to help ocean conservation plays a huge part in rules and regulations getting changed.

Hi! So I've personally had a love of the ocean since I was a kid. I grew up very far from the ocean, so I was fascinated when I was old enough to understand what I was seeing. And the ocean is still this grand mystery to explore and find out how to save, even in this modern era. So the ocean will always be near and dear to my heart!

    To all on this thread.

I share your love of the ocean, which is why I wrote a book about sharks and conservation. "Emperors of the Deep-The Shark" The paperback just came out. Check it out on AMAZON.
    Cheers, Bill

Growing in Southern California, less than a mile from the beach, I've had a passion for the beaches and oceans since diapers. I remember my father instilling it in me from a young age to always pick up any pieces of trash I would see washed in from the ocean. After seeing how damaging garbage was for the oceans after spending copious amounts of time at the beach,  I knew this needed to stop. Also, being apart of a family who has a passion for traveling to tropical destinations, I've seen whales and sea lions damaged/ washed up from garbage in the ocean on coastlines all over the world. Those are images I will never be able to remove, so If I can make an impact by inspiring those around me to dedicate to making a change, I will do what I need to do. We need to take care of these oceans and treat them correctly.
