What I can do outdoors (Plano, Texas)

hey EXL members, I've been thinking about what I can do around my home and have come up with a couple of ideas - I'm already an avid recycler and try to use reusable water bottles, bags, etc as often as possible. I've  replaced all of my lighting (interior & exterior) with LED, but I'm exploring what can I do around my outdoors.

replace my gasoline lawnmower & yard equipment with electric - anyone have any experience with good electric lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers? EGO, Toro, Kobalt, Honda (my current gas brand), Greenworks, Dewalt - others?

move to organic gardening, lawn care - stop using toxic chemical fertilizers, herbicides - any recommendations on products & resources? there are a lot of websites, but any strong recommendations? Howard Garrett, The Dirt Doctor - others?

move to "smart system" irrigation - move to a smart sprinkler box, and efficient sprinkler heads - suggestions on easy to use, efficient systems, brands? Maybe add a couple of rain barrels - any good brand recommendations?

Anyone else have more ideas, suggestions? I appreciate the input!

Two great websites specifically for North Texas are www.txsmartscape.com and https://wateruniversity.tamu.edu
The Texas Smartscape program was developed by many experts in north Texas including the Texas extension service horticulture specialists, area nurserymen, public educators, regional water providers and city and county environmentalists. Water University is provided by Texas A&M extension service. Both groups have access to the best professionals in the region who understand the impacts urban homes can have on the environment and the best way to create a home that can improve our world.
